Drop Off And Pick Up Procedures

In an effort to maximize the safety of Uintah students and minimize dangerous traffic congestion, Uintah Elementary School encourages the following drop-off and pick-up procedures.  We ask all parents to adhere to the following rules for both morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up:
 

• NO PARKING in the Uintah circle during school hours.
• No sitting in car in the Uintah circle between 7:45-8:15 a.m. & 2:15-2:45 p.m.
• Vehicles may park legally along the north side of 1300 S. for up to 2 hours between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
• No stopping on the crosswalk at any time.
• All vehicles must enter the driveway circle from the east entrance and exit the circle with the flow of traffic out the west side of the driveway and turn right. 
• Please exercise caution and courtesy toward other drivers and the Safety Patrol members and other adult staff and/or volunteers.

The Uintah administration currently encourages the following four procedures to help you get your children onto the school grounds safely:
 

1. Walk to school with your children or encourage them to walk with friends.
2. Carpool with other families as often as possible.
3. Drop-off and pick-up outside the Uintah circle at one of the following points, in order to avoid traffic congestion and dangerous street crossings:
    

• Mayfair Circle (1615 E)*
• Shannon Street (1615 E)
• Westbound 1300 S*
• Northbound corner of Laird Ave. & 1500 E*
• Westmoreland Place
• Northbound 1500 E (north side of the 1500 E & 1300 S intersection)*
• Southbound 1500 E (north side of 1500 E & 1300 S intersection)
   

 * These drop-off points do not require your child to cross any major street to get to Uintah.

4. Drop-off and pick-up inside the Uintah circle:
 

• Children must exit and enter vehicles only on curb side of car by the cones.
• Vehicles must merge after drop-off or pick-up and turn west when exiting the circle.
   

PLEASE NOTE – NO PARKING IN THE UINTAH CIRCLE AT ANY TIME
