School Community Council (SCC)
The Uintah School Community Council meets monthly to discuss important issues pertinent to the success of Uintah students and families. Our topics include: School Success Plans, School LAND Trust fund usage, implementation of the Wellness Policy, community engagement, and other topics of interest to the school community. Parents have a direct role in helping to shape the policies around these issues as well as how the Trustlands monies are spent. For instance, this past year Uintah received over $60,000 in Trustlands funds! The SSC decided to spend the money to help pay for paraprofessionals who work with small groups of students or one-on-one with students who need extra help and support as well as to help purchase science materials for students. For the year 2021-2022, the Uintah SCC decided to use the bulk of our Trustlands funds to help pay for our English Language Development teacher so that she can help our students who are learning English as a second language. She will also be working with our students with disabilities and with other students who may need extra support. The remaining money may be used to help fund paraprofessionals to help with student learning as well as to purchase science or technology supplies for the school.
Uintah’s School Community Council (SCC) consists of parent members and faculty members, including the principal. Participation is encouraged at all meetings by anyone who would like to attend. Membership on the committee is established at the beginning of each year either by election or appointment. This year’s election meeting will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 4:45 p.m. via Zoom. Please see the information below on how to participate via Zoom. To become a Uintah SCC member, you must fill out the Uintah SCC Candidate form located in the resources link on this page and submit that to both Bruce Simpson and Jake Skog. Membership is for a 2 year term.

SCC Meeting Information
The SCC Council generally meets once a month on the 2nd Thursday of the month. There are a few exceptions a year due to holidays, half-days or SEP conferences. Typically, meetings have been held in the library from 4:45-6:00 p.m., but because of the pandemic, all meetings will be conducted on Zoom. All patrons of the school are invited to attend meetings, but if they would like to speak and are not a voting SIC member, then they need to request to be put on the agenda at least 7 days in advance. Contact Jake Skog (SCC Chair) or Bruce P. Simpson (Principal) to be considered for the agenda.
*Click the link below to attend the meeting Thursday, October 7th from 4:15 p.m. until 6 p.m. or when it is finished. You must be a parent or guardian of a student in our school, have been invited by the SCC Chair or Principal to speak, or have a valid purpose to be at the virtual meeting, otherwise, you will be removed from the meeting. Anyone causing any kind of disruption will be removed from the meeting and barred from reentry. We are here to support the students, teachers, and the Uintah school community.*
